Organising a sustainable fashion event is not easy. We knew it, it’s true, and yet we did it. The result? Our collection will be shown on a very special “open-air” catwalk. A warning: there will be no spectators, only protagonists.
HOW TO ORGANISE A (TRULY) SUSTAINABLE FASHION EVENT?
Take the spotlights, the photographers ready to capture the models’ poses and the spectators waiting for the first item of the collection to be released. Well, now put them aside. A park, a beach is all you need to organise a truly green event. Nature is the best possible location for an initiative that really cares about the well-being of the planet.
MODEL FOR A DAY: READY TO WALK THE RUNWAY?
Give up the idea of finding the chair ready to greet you when you arrive. We have stood by and watched the effects of man’s presence on the environment for too long now. It’s time to take action. Fashion can in fact be the lever for this change, a way of giving back to the planet what we have taken from it. Prepare comfortable shoes and arm yourself with the will to do, we’ll take care of the rest.
THE R3UNITE PROACTIVE SHOW
The R3UNITE Proactive Show is the first fashion event with the aim of transforming the passive moments typical of this sector, such as shootings and fashion shows, into useful initiatives. This is how, in collaboration with The Black Bag, we created this series of appointments. This is where spectators will become protagonists involved in cleaning up the beaches of Genoa (19th June), the green parks of Bormio (26th June) and the public spaces of Milan (3rd July).
So you are all invited to “parade” around cleaning up seas, mountains and cities in line with one of our main aims: environmental protection. Collecting plastic and rubbish abandoned on an open-air “catwalk”, you will be able to appreciate the R3UNITE garments worn by our models, committed alongside you to clean up the planet.
